


ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE — The Chartered Institute of Human Capital Development of Nigeria (CIHCDN) has inducted former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Matthew Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo, GCFR, PhD, as a Fellow of the Institute.
The investiture formed the highlight of the Institute’s Special Extraordinary Induction Ceremony held from July 28 to 29, 2026, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Institute described the conferment as a recognition of Chief Obasanjo’s contributions to leadership, national development and human capital advancement in Nigeria.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity for CIHCDN to reaffirm its commitment to promoting professional excellence, leadership development and human capital as critical drivers of national transformation.
CIHCDN expressed appreciation to Chief Obasanjo for accepting the fellowship and commended the management and staff of the OOPL and Olusegun Obasanjo Leadership Institute (OOLI) for their hospitality and support throughout the programme.
Among those acknowledged were the Managing Director of OOPL, Mr. Vitalis Ortese; Deputy Director/Deputy Chief Executive of OOLI, Professor Samuel Adedeji Daramola; Registrar of OOLI, Mrs. Okuwayemisi Badejo; and Mrs. Lovely Nwachukwu, Head of Administration at the Institute for African Culture and International Understanding, a UNESCO Category 2 Institute.
The Institute also recognised the contributions of its Fellows, Members and staff whose teamwork and professionalism supported the successful organisation of the event.
Special commendation was given to the Team Lead and Chairman, Dr. Cyril A. Z. Ogboli, f.hcd., whose leadership and coordination were described as instrumental to the success of the extraordinary induction.
CIHCDN said the event represents a significant milestone in its efforts to strengthen the human capital development profession and promote leadership capable of contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.
The Institute reaffirmed its commitment to advancing professional development, leadership excellence and nation-building through strategic investment in human capital.
