
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Offa and District Society, has inaugurated Mr. Olurebi Monsuru Oladimeji, FCA, as its 7th Chairman for the 2026/2027 administrative year, with a strong commitment to institutional growth, financial sustainability, and youth development.
The investiture ceremony, held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, attracted eminent members of the accounting profession, past district chairmen, family members, and other distinguished guests. Representing the 62nd President of ICAN, Hajia Queensley Sofuratu Seghosime, FCA, was the District Coordinator, Mr. Abiodun Adedeji, FCA. Other dignatariespresent include, the Bursar Federal Polytechnic Offa, Alhaji Moshood Tunde Yusuf FCA, Paper presenter, Mr Falana FCA, Osogbo & District Chairman, Mr Sunday Olatunbosun ACA, Ilorin & District Chairman, Dr Abdulrasheed Taiye Abdullahi FCA, while the Immediate Past Chairman of Offa & District Society, Mr. Oyediran Leye Sheriffdeen, ACA, was also in attendance alongside members of the district executive, Body of past Chairmen
and stakeholders.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Oladimeji described his emergence as Chairman as "a call to service" and pledged to lead with humility, accountability, and dedication, emphasizing that the progress of the district would depend on collective commitment and shared responsibility.
The newly inaugurated chairman paid glowing tributes to the founding fathers and past leaders of the district, particularly acknowledging the contributions of Alhaji Razak Jaiyeola, FCA, the district's patron, and Alhaji AWA Ibraheem, PhD, FCA, for their unwavering support toward the development of the society.
Four-Point Agenda
Presenting his administration's roadmap, Mr. Oladimeji unveiled four strategic priorities aimed at repositioning the district:
- Strengthening Budgeting and Financial Discipline through an effective budgetary system.
- Boosting Revenue Generation by maximizing the utilization of the district's Resource Centre.
- Expanding the Catch-Them-Young Programme to encourage students in tertiary institutions across Offa and its environs to embrace the accounting profession.
- Actualising the Offa ICAN Professional Examination Centre, a project initiated under the immediate past administration.
He commended the Monmodu Jamiu Oyawoye Foundation for supporting previous youth outreach initiatives and appealed for continued collaboration in nurturing the next generation of chartered accountants.
Commendation for Past Leadership
Mr. Oladimeji specifically praised the Immediate Past Chairman, Mr. Oyediran Leye Sheriffdeen, ACA, for his efforts toward establishing an ICAN Professional Examination Centre in Offa, expressing optimism that the initiative would become a reality during his tenure.
He also expressed appreciation to Mr. Abiodun Adedeji, FCA, for representing the ICAN President at the investiture, while extending gratitude to members of the investiture committee, partners, donors, sponsors, his employer, and his family—particularly his wife, Mrs. Olabisi Oladimeji, whom he described as "a woman of timber and calibre" for her unwavering support.
Calling on members to work together in advancing the district's objectives, the new chairman concluded by urging stakeholders to build "a lasting legacy" that would inspire future executives and further strengthen the Institute's impact within the district.
ABF News reports that the investiture marks the beginning of a new leadership era for the ICAN Offa and District Society, with expectations that the administration's focus on financial sustainability, professional development, and youth engagement will further enhance the district's contribution to the accounting profession and national development.
